Viola Nassi (she/her)

MLitt student in American Modern Literature at the University of Glasgow

Research interests: Contemporary Chicana literature, contemporary Chicana poetry, women Beat authors, queer theory, contemporary feminist epistemology, bilingual Latinx literature.

Viola’s research centres on literary works by women belonging to marginalised groups and communities, with a focus on bilingual Chicana and LGBTQIA+ literature. In her current research, Viola is exploring the connections between the several identities that shape the contemporary Chicana literary body of work. Through the analysis of cultural, geographical, sexual and gender identity, Viola aims to emphasise the full complexity and overall relevance of feminist Mexican American literature.
